February 5, 2020


1. Get excited BMS for next week's school wide Spirit Week!  We are raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and for one dollar per day, you can dress up in the theme!  Monday is pajama day.  We are looking forward to a great week of spirit in supporting a terrific cause.  Go Rockets!"

2. Whether you ride a scooter or skateboard we’ve got news for you!  Mr. Kuh is now accepting registration from BMS 7th and 8th graders for a field trip to Chenga World.  The trip will be on Weds. March 4th after school.  Please pick up the needed forms in the main office.  Money and forms are due to Mr. Kuh by Friday, February 21st. 

3. There will be no Builders Club meeting tomorrow. 

4. A reminder that all DI teams will be meeting with Mrs Spratt today during your lunch periods in the library.

5. The grapplers wrapped up their season last night at the GLC championship at Fairview high school. Placing for the Rockets were Jason Peacock and Beckett Kruger placing 4th Jackson Kloepfer finished 3rd and Bruce Berger finished a respectable 2nd place Great job wrestlers.Coach Fowler and Mahoney want to thank you all for a great hard fought season. 

6. Attention Drama Club members: CREW ONLY today is cancelled. Cast will still have rehearsal. Once again, CREW for Drama Club is cancelled today

2. A reminder that this week’s meeting is only for competition writers and runners and will be from 3:00 – 3:30. We will resume regular meetings next Week. Competition writers and runners this TODAY”S meeting is mandatory and all District Competition permission slips are due by this Wednesday to Mrs. Goldberg. Please see Mrs. G. with any questions. And good luck to all of our BMS Power of the Pen competition writers this weekend at Districts!

1. The Box Tops Contest is going strong.   Randjelovic's home base class is ahead with 198 box tops! The full list with class totals is posted in the cafeteria.  Keep bringing in those box tops until February 21st to win a Pizza Party!  Don’t forget to write your home base teacher’s name on the bag or envelope. Thanks to all who have participated so far and good luck!

February 11, 2020

1. This past weekend our BMS Power of the Pen competition writing team traveled to Columbia Middle School to compete in the Power of the Pen District Tournament. The competition was fierce as there were 20 other local schools each with 7 th and 8 th grade teams. Our writers wrote hard through three 40-minute writing rounds. Both of our writing teams were very successful! One of our writers earned an individual award: CONGRATULATIONS to 7 th grader Amanda Reid who won 1 st place out of all of the 7 th grade writers! The writers didn’t stop there. Our 7 th grade writing team also earned a team award, meaning ALL of our writers on that team did extremely well. The entire BMS 7 th grade Power of the Pen competition writing team won FIRST PLACE (again, out of 20 schools competing!) Be sure and check out their 1 st place trophy in the BMS Main Office. CONGRATULATIONS to our 7 th grade competition writing team: Ella Deibel, Lola Toil, Laura Elliott, Gwynn Miller, Amanda Reid, Olivia McIntire. A big CONGRATULATIONS also goes to our very talented 8 th grade competition writing team: Chloe Hoban, Emma Lindway, Faith Beatty, Angie Ingraham, Gwyneth Rees. A BIG THANK YOU to our 7 th and  8 th grade runners this year who worked hard and were so supportive – Amelia Carroll and Clara Lang. We appreciated you being there! Well done all! You should be very proud!

4. Mr.Fitchpatrick and Miss Flamos would like to thank everyone that contributed or volunteered their time to the most successful and exciting 7th Grade Dance ever!! The 7th Grade Town Council raised over $500.00 at the dance and close to $1000.00 as a grade level this week to help eradicate Cancer and to also get us closer to our schoolwide goal and closer to having Mr.Grodek, Mr.Sherwood, Mr.Leininger, and Mr.Fitchpatrick shave their head to help fight Leukemia Lymphoma and all other kinds of Cancer!! Way to go 7th Graders!!
